Transferring Baby….

Hi All

Can anyone share any words of wisdom to help me with my 8 month old baby girl. She’s BF (in case that’s of relevance at all) and does not sleep anywhere unless it’s on me or in our bed which means I can’t relax and sleep. Currently in her next to me until this coming week when her nursery will be done so she’ll be in her own room - god help me because I can’t see it being successful.

She falls asleep feeding by 7/7.15 but as soon as I go to transfer her to her bed, or anywhere, she wakes back up. Doesn’t always need a feed again and sometimes a cuddle gets her back to sleep in minutes but again, on me and not laid down.

Day time naps are even pretty much similar if she doesn’t fall asleep in the car, then she will on me. Very rarely sleeps in her pram.

Any help with transferring her from me to her bed successfully? I have white noise on (Tommy tippee dream maker), the rooms dark & right temperature and I move her patting & not patting her but still standing wakes up 😩

Have you tried breastfeeding laying down and then rolling away? That’s how I get my DD to sleep for her nap most days and then I just gentle move away when she’s asleep, pop the monitor on and can get a few bits done. I do have a floor bed though so not sure how practical this will be for you!

Yep as PP said - feeding lying down and roll away!

Hi my daughter was like this too. At 5.5 months I kind of realised the issue was she isn’t falling asleep in the place I want her to settle. Ie not on me/ in my bed.
so I know it’s basic but I just started feeding her and kept her awake in the feed. Then popped her down in cot and just sat next to her shushing her every few minutes. There was a little bit of crying (15 mins) but mostly it was fine. She then started to get stretches of sleep in her next to me.
i haven’t moved her to her room yet (she is 7 months) but im going to try and keep it the same and pop her in awake.
