Our DS is 15 months, I’ll give a run down of his day:
5:00-5:30am stirring to wake up (sometimes this can be earlier depending on his bedtime). He wakes up still tired and despite best efforts, he fights the sleepiness but won’t eat a proper breakfast. We let him potter around for an hour or sit in his chair/baby swing (I’ll explain further) before breakfast time.
6:30-7am breakfast time consists usually of a piece of toast, yoghurt and fruit - leaves a lot of breakfast, he will potter around and play again for a bit but he becomes absolutely enraged and moaning lots by 7:30-8am meaning he has to go down for a nap, just as the day is ‘starting’.
8am/8:30am to 9:15-9:30-10am he will nap with lullabies but only in his rocking swing which is slowly dying on us.
10am for instance: he’s awake, snacks on fruit, more toast, a few sweet bits like chocolate buttons or some quavers, he plays quite a lot but he still acts excessively tired. Come lunchtime he doesn’t want to eat anything, instead again raging because he’s tired and ready to go to sleep by 12:30-1pm again…
Once he’s awake from second nap, he’s having lunch which varies from day to day, a lot of the time he just wants to snack, won’t each sandwiches etc. he plays again and potters round lovely most of the time but come 4/4:30pm he’s ready for ANOTHER nap!! Obviously this is danger nap but if he doesn’t sleep on this one - he would not make it till 7:30-8pm for bedtime.
he obviously has dinner when he’s awake - which is normally pretty hearty with pasta, veggies, sauce, some fruit, yoghurt etc.
On most of his naps, he has 3oz milk but this varies again on the days it isn’t consistent.
he’s ready for bed come definite 8pm, originally his bedtime was 7pm but was waking 4amc we pushed it back an hour and this is still 5:30am.
I do struggle with the early starts but what else can we try? My partner is up at 6:30am/7am anyway but we just feel we piss off the neighbours as we live in flats, so come the 5:30am wake up call and the screaming/crying come 8am 😂.
