My 9mo DS used to be a fantastic sleeper (through the night from about 4mo) but now he is really unsettled. He goes to bed at 7 and falls asleep in his cot (usually with my hand on him which is a step down from being cuddled to sleep as he was previously). He needs resettled a couple of times before I go to bed and then sleeps ok til about 3. From there it’s like he can’t get back into a deep sleep- he will doze if I put my hand on him but still fidgets and wakes up and cries the second I remove my hand. If I cuddle him back to sleep it takes a good 30-40 minutes and then he wakes up again as soon as I put him down. I’ll often manage to finally get him down again around 5 and he wakes up for the day at 6. He’s not hungry (have tried a bottle but he has a few ounces and then doesn’t have much of his morning one) and not teething. Room is dark and quiet. What can I do, I’m shattered.

My baby wears a sleeping bag and I switch it for a higher tog during overnight feed.

I think so? he wears vest, pjs and 1.5 tog sleeping bag. He was in a thicker one but was starting to get a bit hot as things have gotten warmer. He also wears special boots as he has talipes.

He’s not a great napper, he’s just started to transition to 2 naps a day usually at about 9.30 and 1.30. On a good day he’ll sleep for an hour but sometimes only half an hour (which usually means he’ll want a third nap which I try and avoid as he then won’t settle at bedtime)
