Ds wont settle

How do I get ds who is a year old to go to sleep?

He is crying and crying. But when either dh or I go up to him he stops crying. Could he be having seperation anxiety? He doesn't have this during the day.

He has been fed, changed, we gave him some medicine as he had fallen over earlier and hurt his lip(we thought this was the problem)

Now I know I will get shouted at but I have brought him downstairs and he is still a bit whingy.

Any ideas gratefully accepted.

Thanks.

He doesn't want to go to bed! Sounds failry typical for his age. If there was really something the matter he'd carry on crying when you went in? Whingy could be because he's tired and should be in bed?! Or perhaps going down with something?

It may be seperation anxiety but equally likely he just wants you to get him up again because he wants to stay up.

So you need to decide - is he ill? If not be tough tomorrow and leave him there (going into to settle and leave him until he drops) or let him stay up?

Neither way is a right way - it's just what's best for you

Oops - I meant keep going into to settle and leave him until he drops...forgot the "keep"

Thanks, he eventually went to sleep(only to wake me up early)

I'm going to be tough tonight and put him to bed and he is going to stay there.
