2 under 2 naps

Hey,

My LG is 18 months and the baby is 7 weeks. Our toddler is an absolute whirlwind and so noisy that the baby struggles to nap during the day. He's constantly getting woken up by her screaming and shouting. I know they say for him to sleep day and night int he same room until 6 months but has anyone put baby upstairs to nap at 2 months? He'd still be in our room overnight.

I'd have a monitor on while he naps and I'd have the doors open so there's still noises going on, it would just be quieter than him being in the living room with us.

I put my dd upstairs for naps when she was twoish months old. She was really struggling to sleep downstairs unless she was on me and I was really struggling with being nap trapped for three hour stints.

Was she ok on her own? Did she sleep better?

I perfected the aligned double buggy nap.... Walked to a local shopping centre every day. And back. Got to where I could stop for a quick cuppa... In time stretched to getting home to do a few chores while they slept!

Absolutely. My DS was napping on his own straight away due to his over enthusiastic big sister (and at 9 months he still has some seriously loud white noise to try and drown her out when he's sleeping). Yes it's against safe sleep guidance, but I accepted that risk. You can't expect a toddler to tip toe around their own house so the baby can sleep

Yep DS2 had to nap in his cot from around the same age. He simply wouldn't sleep if not thanks to his brother!

Thank you everyone

I'm going to try him upstairs tomorrow
