Feeding to sleep

Hello!

my baby is 8 months old, settles himself at bed time and sleeps through the night. Will be put down by my husband and settle himself for naps and sleeps for 1.5 hours. However if I put him down for his nap he cries and cries until I BF him to sleep and then he only sleeps 20-30 mins.

its just me Monday to Friday so I can’t have
my husband do naps.

anyone had anything similar and have any advice?

Yes this is completely normal baby behaviour… Your DS associates you with milk and is telling you that’s what he wants!
A lot of babies will sleep differently for none breastfeeding care giver as it’s what they associate with that person.
Personally I feed my LO to sleep and resettle her with the boob when she wakes early from a nap. I don’t really see a problem with it and it’s the easiest and quickest way to get her to sleep.
But jf you don’t want to feed to sleep… look at building other sleep associations. Lynsey Hookway on insta has good advice on doing this called habit stacking - https://www.instagram.com/p/CewMjZQofHG/?igsh=bGxuamY3anllbXI5

@Brightandbreezey thank you. I will probably stop BF soon so maybe I’ll just relax it until then. Just frustrating as I know he can sleep much longer if he doesn’t feed! Xx

Yeah it’s frustrating, my DD has always slept for longer periods with my DP. It’s just the way it is though…They just want milk! 😂
