10 week old stopped sleeping at night - help!

My 10 week old DD had got into a reasonably good night time sleeping pattern of a 3 hour plus sleep, a 2 hour plus sleep followed by a 1 hour plus sleep - e.g. 3 hours 30 mins followed by 2 hours 15 mins followed by 1 hour 40 mins.
However in the past week it's gone haywire and she won't stay asleep for more than about an hour, sometimes only 25minutes at a time and I'm worn out...
She's exclusively BF which I don't want to stop, but what could be causing her night waking? The only way she'll drop off is if I feed her when she wakes, but she still wakes up soon after and is obviously not hungry but at least falls asleep on my breast - everything else like rocking her etc. doesn't work.
Is it too cold or hot in our bedroom? Should I cut out alcohol or caffeine? Will she grow out of this very soon? Please help....someone...

Hormones, I have the same problem so can only offer empathy. My DS is 12 weeks, was doing okay at night but now is a total nightmare. I also BF and feed him around 2am - he falls asleep in the bed next to me but then wakes up and is very difficult to settle again.

Sorry, let's hope someone has got some advice for us - my DH and I are also knackered

early teething?

HormonesAGogo · 30/03/2008 17:29

Nice to know I'm not alone - she's also recently started chomping her hands, she starts in her sleep and manages to wake herself up! and she has started dribbling a lot - so could this be teething? anything I can do to help her sleep if it is?
