14 Month Sleep Regression

Our little one has slept through since about 2-3 months old, has always slept 10-12 hours at night (yes, we know how lucky we are!)

Now he's 14 months and it's like having a new born in the house again.
Previously we'd read a book and put him into bed still awake then he'd doze off himself, now he screams the house down if we do that and we can only get him down if he falls asleep having a cuddle first.

During the night if he woke he'd get himself back off to sleep, now more screaming and won't fall asleep unless he's on one of us. Then when we go to put him back in the cot he screams the house down again - this cycle is continuing all night some nights.

It came on suddenly, literally one night he was fine then next we were up til 2am trying to get him to sleep (bed time is 6.30-7ish)

He has learnt a lot in the last couple of weeks - 4 new words, walking unaided, waving, clapping, following more difficult instructions - so I assume it's just a regression with how busy his little brain is but I just cant fathom how to get him back to sleeping without having a meltdown every time he goes in the cot.

If anyone can help I'd be externally grateful!!

Hi Laura

Did you ever get over this phase. Our baby seems to be going through the exact same thing!

Thanks
