Anyone use the no cry sleep solution?

I am trying to use this at the moment but can't get past the first stage. I nurse him and use the pantley pull off which he is getting better at. Then I hold him for a minute or two - pat him a bit to get burps out and then lower him into the cot where I pat and shh him.

He will accept going into the cot like this now although to be honest he really is practically asleep by the time I get him there. I can't seem to move on from this stage though. I tried to take him off my boob a bit earlier tonight and he just ended up being totally awake. He's still getting me up every hour and a half or so during the night and I am going a bit mad.

No advice for you but you have my support and sympathy! DS 22 wks, is horrendous at then moment, waking every couple of hours and I have run out of ideas.

hello there. i am trying this too (ds 14 weeks). i can only do the pull off then he wakes when i put him in the cot. have been trying to get him down tonight for 1 and a half hrs.

how long have you been doing the plan? she does say it takes time...

Not too long. I did have a couple of good moments last night - one where he let me just pat him in the cot although he hadn't really woken up too much then and then one at five where he was awake and fell asleep on his own. Baby steps I suppose. It's so exhausting only getting an hour and half sleep at a time isn't it.

Hi Stefka, sorry to hear of your interrupted nights, sounds very familiar. I've had a bit more success with the no cry sleep solution though I've not followed it slavishly. Have you tried letting him cry a bit but staying with him? I found this was needed with my ds (51/2months) as I seemed to wake him up by picking him up. When I stayed with him after puting him down (when asleep to begin with - he's always wake up when put down) I could see him fighting the sleep (seeming to fall asleep then manage to wake himself up for another cry). I think the longest I did this for was about 20-25 mins, but I could stand it as I could see him getting closer to sleep. I'd pick him up if he wasn't. Also, I found certain times were easier - night time best, then his morning nap, then got progressively harder as the day wore on. Do you find the same with your dc? I started on the easier times then moved onto afternoon naps once he was going off to sleep himself. I think I've been very lucky in that it's worked quite well for him, but obviously your situation is different so may not work for you in the same way. Good luck with it.

He just gets really worked up if I leave him and I am not really comfortable leaving him to cry. I find it makes things worse in the long run as he then gets really scared in his cot and cries the second I put him in it. I have had to do a lot of playing in it in the day to get him to feel a bit happier in there again and now I can put him down without him instantly screaming at least!

Still stuck on stage one here. Tried stage two last night and tonight but he was having none of it.
