Teething - Anbesol

My son went through what looked like another regression recently, but it turned out to be four top teeth coming through at once! Trouble is, they seem to be moving in fits and starts. You can see four buds (two really clear), but it's been five days already.

Anbesol works like a charm, but it says just 7 days consecutively.

Does anyone know how long a gap you have to leave before re-starting use? Can't seem to find it anywhere.

How often are you using it? I don’t know what the ‘official’ rules are but we only used it at bedtime, not during the day, and after a week we’d normally give DC a break of a few days. Can you try nurofen for a couple of days and see if that helps?

DS2 had 4 top teeth come through at once a couple of months ago and it was very hard work so I feel your pain. He has another bottom one coming through now, hence the 2am post!

I clearly didn't ready the box I just used to pop some on when he was struggling! Nurofen I found was better than calpol too. But that's a lower dose and less often (did read the box!)

I was never rigid about the amount or how often.

Sometimes we're really bad and we would use it throughout the day, sometimes not stall, and others just at bedtime.

As long as they are not regularly consuming a whole bottle a week

* As long as they are not regularly consuming a whole bottle a week it will be fine, just use it sensibly and only as required.
