Sleep hell -constant waking

6 month old baby went to bed at 7 and he’s already been up crying 3 times! He needs rocking back to sleep each time. Last night it was every hour and a half.
He never been a good sleeper but this is killing us. I don’t need solutions because I’m assuming it’s just a regression or growth spurt but I need someone to say it happened to them and it stopped quickly!

Also to add, the reason I feel so sad is because usually his first stretch is the longest. Sometimes 2/3/4 hours but this week it’s been shorter and this signals a shocker of a night.

Could be teeth? Whenever my DD had a bout of terrible sleep, it'd last around a week to ten days usually. Best of luck, hope you get some rest soon!

Bouts of bad sleep would last less than a week for my two sons.

Maybe use calpol for teething or those teething crystals/powder sachets.

I think if he is tired and waking up that frequently at the beginning of the night, it’s because he’s uncomfortable, could be his teeth. That was always the case for my DD as well, during the worst of the teething she would wake every 20 mins for a couple of hours, then I think tiredness would take over and she slept. Try Nurofen and anebesol gel 15 mins before bed to see if that helps.

Good luck!

Thank you. Hopefully it is teething. I can’t feel lumps on his gums but he certainly likes to gnaw on things. Appreciate people taking time to reply because it makes it feel a little less lonely on those horrible nights.
