16/17/18 week sleep regression

I’m after some advice/help/ support or even some sanity šŸ˜µā€šŸ’«

Since just before his 16 week injections our DS has been struggling to sleep through. We have remained consistent with his bath and bed times.

Most of the time he cries whenever his head touches his cot. When he does sleep, it’s only for 90 mins or so! Before this he was sleeping 8-12 / 1-5 and now a 2 hour stint of sleep is joyous.

He will go to sleep easy on ourselves, which we’ve had to do lately to get some much needed rest! But we’re trying to avoid this if at all possible.

he’s a lovely baby throughout the day, but his mood starts to change towards the end of bath time.

Is this the sleep regression? How long does it last!

any help or reassurance is appreciated.

I feel your pain. My son never really slept through but at least was predictable in his night feeds and had done the odd random 7 or 8 hr stretch. Then Christmas eve came and it all went to pot. He was 5 months and we'd thought we'd skipped a regression but they've just all connected up.

He was up hourly and one night up 11 times screaming. Gave in and coslept on my shift as my husband and I split the night so we both get 5 hrs sleep at least to survive. Co sleeping helped in that he still woke but I could soothe him faster. He's not a self settler and never had been, and has had a few teeth since 3 months old, now has 7 at 7 months, and crawled just before 7 months so it feels like we're in a never-ending teething/developmental leap.

Considering some sleep training but he cries powerfully when he wants to so trying to put it off tbh! Hope your little ones passes soon, positive they were sleeping so well before! Oh we also warmed crib with hot water bottle to mimic warm mum or dad too and that seemed to work for first put down.
