Getting rid of the dummy for sleep (6 month old)

Hi everyone, looking for any advice and/or other people's experience of doing this! We've decided we need to drop the dummy at night for our 6 month old baby boy as it has now become more of a hindrance for everyone's sleep! We have to go in multiple times a night to replace it as he's become completely dependent on it for sleep (and can't replace it himself)... anyone else done this and have any tips or advice on how to make it as painless as possible?! Confused

did you manage to find a solution at all? My son is 10 months and still wakes crying for his dummy and won’t find it himself. I have to get up 4/5 times a night just to give him his dummy

I got glow in the dark dummies which helped and I clipped one to my little ones top. He soon figured out to follow the lanyard/cord and replaced it himself

Just get rid! We decided to do it at 12 months, I just went cold turkey one night and my little one didn’t even care!

We did start training her off it beforehand I.e literally only gave it to her if she was really unsettled or at bedtime. We’d never just let her have it for the sake of it and this really helped!
