Newborn baby so loud

My baby is 4 weeks and I'm struggling with sleep. Even though she can sleep for 2-3 hours at a time, she's so noisy that I just can't sleep. I wake every time she grunts or whines. I've tried ear plugs and white noise and neither help.
Currently the Moses basket is next to the bed - would it be unsafe to move it to the other side of the room or does that defeat the object of being in the same room? Really struggling here 🙁

I think it’s normal in the early days to not sleep because you are so alert to your precious new born possible needing you, it will get better and you will soon tune the extra noises out.
Congratulations on your new baby.

This drove me up the wall! She was so loud! We coped by wheeling the crib into the spare room and DH sleeping next to her one night a week so I got a weekly night off (combi fed and slept thru early).

But it was a huge relief once we moved her into her own room. We stuck it out until just before six months because of the safe sleep guidance but it was a very very long six months.
