Dummy falling out 4 months

My 4-month old has started to sleep for longer stretches at night and we've dropped the middle of the night feed a few days ago. However, he will fuss several times a night and only the dummy calms him down. Once I give it to him he'll fall back asleep. But this is happening over 10x a night...

He'll always fall asleep at night with his dummy and more and more he needs it for his naps. Once he's asleep it'll often fall out and he's fine, it's only if he stirs that he realises it's off and will fuss for it. So I'm not sure if the issue is the dummy or whatever keeps making him stir during the night (it usually starts in the early hours of the morning). He's also 4 months old so could this just be sleep regression?

Anyone experienced this and has any tips? Will I need to just take his dummy away? I'm not a big fan of controlled crying...

Hi, mine did similar. In our case the dummies were too heavy, tommee tippee ultra light ones stay in a lot longer. I’m still up once or twice a night at 9 months but it’s been a welcome improvement!

It may be that he's starting not to need it, hopefully you'll get him off it shortly
