7 month is up loads during the night, he's still in next to me crib, someone suggested trying his own room in his cot, it's giving me anxiety is it worth trying? I'm paranoid I don't hear him with the baby monitor

Unless it’s a next to me forever you need to stop using it. They’re not safe for babies over 6 months because they could topple out if they sit up or pull to stand. Even if he hasn’t done it yet there’s a first time for everything and babies often like to try out new skills in the cot.

If you want to keep him in with you then you could use a travel cot if there isn’t room for the big cot. I don’t know that I’d be in a rush to move him if it meant I’d be traipsing down the corridor multiple times a night but maybe worth a try to see if you’re all disturbing each other and he’ll sleep better on his own? It’s up to you really! I moved mine much younger but it’s a very personal decision.

I’m confused why you think you wouldn’t hear him through the monitor though. With the volume up and close to your ear it will be so much louder than he is, in fact you’ll probably end up turning it down to the lowest setting. If there’s a specific reason why you’re worried though like you have a hearing impairment or are on medication that makes you sleep very deeply then please seek specialist advice and ignore me!
