Baby wants to hold my hand at night

My little boy (9 months) wants to hold my hand when he sleeps. Ive tried giving him a teddy but he doesn't seem to want it - i don't think he likes the softness. Any ideas what else could I give him to hold which isn't my hand!? I need some sleep....! 😴

Can I ask gently, did you train your baby to do this?it isn’t something they generally do naturally, more it is something they get used to. And then can’t go without.

you are going to have to break the cycle, and yes it will likely take a few difficult weeks, but you need to stop and let your baby fall asleep without that touch or you will have years of this.

I've no idea if this is a good idea or not or even safe but this bizarrely came up on my Pinterest earlier. There's others similar on there (I've just checked) if you think it might help.

Isn’t something they do naturally? Babies wanting human touch is the most natural thing in the world- it’s forcing them to be abandoned and alone that is unnatural, in my opinion.

I used to feel exhausted because of this but now it's one of my most precious memories. So so sweet. I'm glad I did it (for years!!)

Oh gosh this seems so sweet, although I'd try and work something else out before it becomes a habit. Personally I think it's not great for children to form these habits as for many it continues for years (and do you really want to still be doing this in 5+ years). I'd try some other types of toys or textures that he may like. But it is very sweet, so enjoy it while you're still doing it!

Not that i'm aware of! He's always been a baby that likes touch to sleep, haven't really been able to wean him off! I'll slowly try less and less to help him sleep in his own room
