Anyone else’s newborn awake as soon as they enter a room?

so My baby is 4 weeks tomorrow and myself and partner do shifts at night with him as we’re both exhausted to get some sleep between us. I’m coming to realise if I enter the room he suddenly wakes up and he seems to be excited and wide eyed at night when I take over and hesitant to sleep yet goes down for a couple of hours for partner. I wouldn’t say I struggle to get him to drift off but he does wake himself up with digestive grunting and waving around

Do you breast feed? My little one woke up when I came into the room a lot when she was newborn. I think they realise they are a bit peckish and can smell the milk.
DD has always slept better on partner too, again I think it’s the smell of milk!

I was expressing milk and drying up supply now and just using formula, I thought it could be this it’ll be interesting to see if it stops once supply has gone!
