Toddler sleep

My two toddlers, very close in age, have always been great at sleeping through the night and settling into bed. However the past month, maybe 2 have been absolutely terrible. Up, down, refusing to go into bed, screaming, hitting, nipping, fighting with each other which can sometimes last for several hours until they finally crash out.
They are in separate rooms however as myself and DH often work late nights it's usually just ones of us here to put them to bed so we have had to put them both in same room until they fall asleep then lift one into their own room.

I'm exhausted with the hours on end lying with them due to the nonsense. They have always went to bed with white noise on so we continue that. We read books before bed, no screen time for few hours prior to bedtime.
We have tried a nightlight which works to some extend. Tried audiobooks in bed instead of white noise but still this continues.

Any advice 🆘
