Breastfed baby - dad to help to break cycle

Due to MH reasons I will need to stop breast feeding to sleep at night.

dad said he's happy to help with 7 month old but both of us not sure how we can break this cycle.

I tried to unlatch and gave baby to dad but this just ended with screaming. How long to preserve and does anyone have experience stopping the BF at night?

Nope never has done. At 7 months I'm wondering if there's any point in trying. We tried for months and he just didn't take to it. Rather than get stressed about we stopped
