9 month old waking through the night

Looking for a bit of advice.

My 9 month old is great at going to sleep....but doesn't stay asleep! And is still waking at least 3 times a night, if not 5 or 6.

She is breastfed (has milk allergy so can't have normal formula) but eats very well during the daytime of "proper" food. I spoke with a well renowned sleep consultant who said to carry on with the feeding to sleep and that it was unlikely she was waking up due to hunger but didn't offer much more advice!

Her naps and routine are good. Gets 2.5 hours of sleep over 2 naps. Last nap is about 3.5 hours before bed.

I've heard offering water instead of milk during the night but she just howls and properly wakes herself fully up if she does this. I've also heard very mixed results with this method....

Does anyone have any advice or tips?

This is just normal baby. Months 8-10 are often the most wakeful of the first year for many babies, they’re learning and growing so much. Just one to get through really. Most babies still need milk at night under 1, and often over, and breastfeeding to sleep is often the easiest and quickest way to get a baby back to sleep, so go with what’s easy. Bedsharing and feeding lying down will help you get more sleep.

The Rollercoaster of Real Baby Sleep

We (‘we’ meaning society) seem to think that baby sleep is linear. By that I mean we seem to think that it gets better as babies grow older. Or at least we believe it is static, ie. it …
