Seven month old split nights

I’m currently feeling like death after another split night with my seven month old. His sleep has always been terrible since about 3.5 months. He’s reduced from hour waking to waking every two - three hours which is great. But this last week he’s been waking up in the night wide awake and won’t go back to sleep for another two hours.

Yesterday I tried skipping his late afternoon nap but it obviously made zero difference.

Any ideas what this could be or how to stop him doing this? Or when it might pass?

Some info… he is still breastfed but does have a bottle before bed. He is not fed to sleep in the day or evening but I do feed him back to sleep when he wakes in the night (apart from when he’s up partying for two hours, then nothing can get him back off).

No allergies. He’s not in a leap. Good bedtime routine. Room doesn’t seem too hot or cold. Doesn’t seem to change no matter how much or little daytime sleep.

The only thing I can think of is that it’s developmental because he’s trying to hard to crawl at the moment.

Please send help and answers and coffee

No advice or answers, just to say my 7 month old is going through the same thing! Last night was a record for him as he was awake 10:30pm-2am (I’m suffering today!).
I’ve got my bets on it being developmental. I’ll keep my fingers crossed this ‘phase’ passes for both of us pretty quickly….!!!!!
