My baby is 8 weeks old and today whik I was facetiming his Grandmother and she was talking to him, he fell asleep suddenly. He wasn't crying before then, he sortof just drifted to sleep. It upset me, because it was so sudden and it's making me feel like have I done something wrong, was he overtired and that's my fault etc. So many thoughts keep popping up. I'm just really worried if this is even normal, it was so sudden!! Please advice me. I'm a first time mum going through post natal depression as well. Thank you for your help in advance.

This happened to me once, I had the health visitor round and I was holding the baby, she must have been around 3 months and she just fell asleep upright. This was the baby that would fight sleep for hours, I was almost a bit embarrassed but more surprised than anything else. It never happened again, I almost called the health visitor just to pop round to see if we could recreate the scene!

Babies are super weird little creatures - who knows what they’ll do and when they’ll do it. I would just take it as a win that baby was so happy to just conk out and if it keeps happening to the point you’re worried about it, speak to the GP.
