Baby sleeps well at night but doesn't nap properly in the day

My 11 week old currently sleeps in 4-5 hour stretches at night from 12am - 10am.

However during the daytime it's nearly impossible to get her to sleep more than 20-45 minutes, meaning she's fussy and irritable all the way until 12/1am when she finally sleeps.

The only exception is when we're out in the pram where she will sleep the entire time, 3-4 hours. Obviously I can't just take her out for every single nap so I'm at a loss on what I should do. She does sleep well when she's on me, it's just that when I put her down, she wakes up soon after.

Ive been trying to follow wake windows etc but I spend ages trying to put her down and she just won't sleep! Last night she was up 6 hours in a row, only closing her eyes for 5-10 minutes at a time.

It sounds like they are approaching the 4 month sleep regression, this can hit between 3-4 months.

My little one is 4.5 months old and won't sleep at home during the day longer than 30 minutes.

When out in the pram she will literally sleep for hours and miss a feed.

I have no advice but I'm currently going through it too. This is my second and we have a young toddler so I can say with confidence that it does pass.

None of my children ever routinely napped during the day. Every child is different and they also go through phases of needing more or less sleep. I wouldn't worry about it tbh. If they are sleeping well at night that's the main thing.

I don't know how forcing them to sleep will help, if they won't sleep they wont sleep

Those sorts of length naps aren't unusual at this age.

If you've found that they sleep better on you in the day or or in pram, then do that tbh. You could do one out and about nap in a day, and another in your, and other naps it matters less if they are shorter because hopefully she's had two decent ones.

Would she stay asleep if you got her to sleep in the pram and then either brought it home or left it just outside the back door with her wrapped up warm (and you inside very nearby)?

I'm on DC3 and all have been the same, it's draining. Just try and get that last nap right which will make bedtime easier. So if she sleeps well in the pram go for a late afternoon walk. That should help ease the evening fussiness.
