11 month old naps for dad but not mum

11 month old ds, has 2 hour-long naps per day (10ish and 3ish). Hes always hated going to sleep, lots of crying/fighting etc and we've worked on getting him to fall sleep in his cot with our help. In the last month or so, ds will settle for dh in a matter of minutes, always falls asleep and has a long nap, often needs to be woken. For me he is really really hard work. I can manage the morning nap although it takes a while. Ds has missed 3 afternoon naps this week because I absolutely cannot get him to fall asleep. Often it can take me 45 minutes to get him down and he will then wake after 30 mins or so, cranky and overtired. I'm finding it really really hard to deal with. Anyone experienced this or have any advice?

We do the same - dark room, white noise, say goodnight then put him in his cot and lay a hand on his back until he falls asleep. For dh, he stays still and sleeps. For me he "messes about" - wiggles all over, stands up, babbles, waves his hands, kicks his legs. If I tell him it's nap time and try to move him into a sleeping position or lay my hands on him he cries.

And to add, we have a 3 year old so I don't have the option to do things like hold him to sleep/cuddle him for the afternoon nap etc.

He also is bad at sleeping in the buggy or car - will do it but often takes a while and isn't a "reliable" way of getting him to sleep. So that isn't an option, plus not really practical with other ds to be doing that. Help I am nearly in tears over this most days.
