Daytime sleeping - please help

Hi all.
My 3 week old baby wont sleep in the Moses basket in the lounge in the daytime, she is fine at night in her crib upstairs and will go a few hours before waking for a feed, but in the day time will only sleep on me or will sleep for say 15 mins in her basket before she starts crying.

I've tried picking her up then putting her back in once she's settled and putting her in the basket when she's in a deep sleep, but it doesn't work.
She seems to know she's not on me and starts shrieking.
It's not the end of the world and I realise she's still small, but I can't get anything done at all in the day and I'm worried that I'm making a rod for my own back by letting her nap on me. Does anyone know if this is normal or have any advice?
Thank you.

Just to clarify at night time she will fuss and grumble in her cot a bit after a feed but she seems to be able to settle herself, she won't do this in the daytime

So normal, she's only 3 weeks old and feels safe being held. Don't worry about the rod for your own back nonsense and look up the 4th trimester instead Smile

Could you try a sling so you can potter about doing things while she sleeps?

Contact naps are normal. Most 3 weeks old won't nap on their back on a flat surface. Mine only contact napped until 7 months. Go to a sling library, get a good structured sling for our and about and get a stretchy wrap sling for naps at home. I watched hours of TV with headphones in whilst I stood rocking during those early months
