11 month old bizarre schedule

So my 11 month old DS was pretty much an 8pm ish bedtime kinda baby and would sleep u till about 7ish which was absolutely fine and dandy. However, the last couple of weeks have been so unpredictable and just strange.

We haven't changed anything routine wise but he has now naturally started going to bed between 11pm and midnight and waking between 9 and 10am. No matter how many naps he has, he some how manages to stay up until this time. Generally he has around 2.5 hours worth of daytime naps one around about 12 noon and another between 4 and 5pm but still managed to stay up until nearly midnight. The other night I managed to get him to drift off at 9pm and thought it was a turning point but he was just humouring us and it turned out to be a 20 min nap.

It's making meal times pretty difficult because we end up having to give him another dinner sometimes due to how long he's been awake in the evening.

Anyone experienced anything similar at all or any recommendations for getting him back to the usual routine? We have tried waking him earlier but he just ends up extra grumpy and takes longer naps

Any reason why the naps are so late? I’d aim for a naps at something like 9-10am and 1-2.30pm. He probably just isn’t tired for bed at 8 because he’s spent most of the afternoon asleep.

Sleep can be such a frustrating issue because their needs change quite frequently at this age and what's always worked before suddenly stops working! I'd definitely try bringing that late nap earlier to make sure he's tired out before bedtime.

Him going to bed at 9 but only sleeping for a 20 minute nap shows he probably didn't have enough sleep pressure built up!

I also know how ridiculous this sounds when everyone's exhausted but I'd try waking him up earlier so he's ready to take that first nap earlier. It may set a better routine for timings which will make meals etc easier too!

my DS is also 11 months.. his day sleep went all weird, he suddenly started fighting the second nap and then if he did sleep around 3/4 his evening sleep time would be much later.
Even though i felt it was too early for him, i let him drop to one nap. He then started sleeping from around 10-12 for a nap and then bed time between 18:30 / 19:00. I do follow cues though so if he seems tired earlier he naps at 9 and is then likely to nap again at 14:30/15:00.

midnight sounds hard!! I would probably also wake him earlier to try get a different day routine going!
