Hi

My one year old has been awake since 10.30. He's had a cold and a bit of loose stools for a few days but nothing to warrant this.

He slept through last night (for the 3rd time ever) and tonight he slept for under 3 hours until this shitshow.

I have a big presentation at work tomorrow and my husband also is travelling for work. He doesn't need changing, he isn't hungry, he only stops crying when I'm carrying him. Tried co sleeping but even that ends in him crying. We've never had him awake so long with no resolution. He must be shattered but the crying continues. I know he isn't in pain as when I pick him up on my shoulder he immediately stops, when we all went downstairs to try and feed him again he was happy on my chest. What do I do!?!

Tried bringing him into bed with me 4 times no avail. We usually do the 5 min check ins and he self settles (generally only wakes once a night)

I'm shattered. I feel sick. What do I do!!!

If he's got a cold he's probably all bunged up and feeding rotten. Have you given calpol?

Laying down when you have a bunged up nose is awful,

Mine used to be like this when she had a cold, it was brutal so I feel your pain. We found distraction was the best thing, dose up with calpol then put on some Peppa Pig, then at least we could normally sit down on the sofa or doze in bed and not have to be pacing the landing.
Try not to worry about your presentation tomorrow. The adrenaline will get you through it and I'm sure you will all have a better night sleep tomorrow.
