Argh - at the end of my tether.

DS has suddenly started shouting and squealing in the middle of the night. He sleeps in our room next to my side of the bed and after we've fed him at around 4am he goes back in his cot and jsut won't settle. He starts shouting and if we go and try to settle him he just grins at us - obviuosly wanting to play.

He used to be such a good settler - we could put him back in his cot and he'd get himself back to sleep with no agro (I realise now how lucky we were with that!!) but not it can be 2 hours of trying to calm him down when he jsut wants to play.

Any ideas... ???

I found that letting my Dd get on with it(usually no more than 10 minutes)and just listening, she just settles down again on her own...Actually she did it last night, so I bf'd her and put her back to bed(she's in my room), she didn't want to go back down, but I wasn't going to give in. If you keep giving into baby, he'll keep doing it, it'll become a habit and you'll be completely shattered and you need to sleep...try to get him into good practise now.
Good luck.

Move him into his own room? My ds blows bubbles to play in early hours, thankfully a quieter alternative..He usually gets himself back to sleep

can't put him in his own room yet, he's only 3 months. we'd be up half the night anyway..
