Self settling

Is there a way to get my 8 month old to self-settle? She used to be able to do it at around 6 months but just cries when she’s put in her cot now and has to be held/rocked to sleep. She’s waking up every hour or so…

Not without leaving her to cry I don’t think. Don’t do that. She’s little and could be going through an anxious phase. It doesn’t last forever. Cuddle her to sleep. I did with all mine til 15 months.. no regrets

What's the routine like during the day? Sure there's a regression at 8 months although my son never went through it x

Yeah I’m really reluctant to do any type of controlled crying. I don’t mind cuddling her to sleep, but I’m concerned that her hourly wakes aren’t sustainable and mean that her sleep isn’t as good as it should be.

Decent routine in the day. A couple of naps a day with appropriate wake windows etc. I think it is sleep regression related, but it’s been going on for a month or so now and I’m worried this is just what her sleep is like now!

It's a phase it'll pass. Just keep doing the routine and should go back to how she was doing before the regression x

I needed to hear that! I keep worrying that the only thing we could do to improve is sleep train, but I really don’t want to - if I knew it would end at some point I’d find it less painful riding it out!

My second child who is 2 is going through a horrible sleep stage at the moment. I've learnt sleep is not linear. Mine wakes early and we have had weeks of night waking 😩 I have found just chill mama on Instagram helpful.
