My boy has been a bit poorly on and off for the last month and has developed a few habits since xmas but generally gotten away with it as debatable teething, ill etc.. but now decided just trying it on or we were to tired to deal with it. He has at 16 month had 8oz feeds through the night, re settling in our bed and extreme early mornings eg half 5 to half 6. Sooo last night we decided to get firm. This is how it went - a supper at 6.30 followed by milk and to bed easily at 7 (never a problem going off and just introduced supper in case a hunger issue) so last night he wakes at 4.10 ish and wwe offered him water instead of milk, cuddled him in to resettle for about 2 mins and settled in cot whereby he kicked of straight away so we bought him in our bed (we were not supposed to do that) anyway he continued to scream so thought best he didnt do that in my ear so we took back to his room - i say we i mean i, anyway offered more water and settled quiet again then put back in cot where the blood curdling screams commenced - we closed his door to muffle the sound and after 5 min re plugged him with his dummy , ran out the door as the dummy was hurled at us, he stood up and screamed for another 5 - we upped it to 7/10 mins intervals with general same pattern with him screeching from his cot stood up. I was getting to the point of giving up as he was getting no quieter and then at 2 mins to 5 he went quiet followed by a a one off cry out about 2 mins later which we went too and gave dummy and he went to sleep. Anyway we have one of those baby monitors that flash to say breathing so we had no worries to go in and disturb/ check he was ok or really asleep and he slept till 8.10 am - result or what!!!!! My dd slept through it all. Hope it inspires you and i pray tonight is better.
