Enlarged adenoids disrupting sleep?

My 3.4 year old keeps waking at 10pm every evening and more often than not ends up in our bed with a further wake. She's never been a brilliant sleeper but it's now worse than ever with the evening waking. She's usually hysterical when she wakes and looks disorientated and cries for mummy. We have a 4 month old baby and had an extension during his arrival so she has had an unsettling time. She is due to have her adenoids removed in November as they're enlarged and she definitely suffers wild mild sleep apnea. She's been having repeated ear infections this year and really suffers when she has a cold. My question is would the enlarged adenoids be the main cause of her sleep issues? Anyone else experienced a big improvement after having the operation to remove them? I appreciate there might also be an element of anxiety going on here too with the recent disruption and I'm trying to reassure as much as possible. She's generally very happy in the daytime.
