Moving to own room at 18 months old

Our 18 month old is still in our room, he sleeps in his own cot (mostly!) but next to our bed. We're expecting our second in a few months and so have no choice but to move our son into his own room now and to do it with enough time so he doesn't associate the change with the new baby. I'm just so upset about it, I love having him close, he loves being with us and I'm feeling so guilty about moving him. He's also started sleeping through the night frequently and I'm worried the transition will set him back.

Does anyone have any advice for moving an older baby into their own room? And any advice for me on how to not be so upset with the change? Thanks!
