1 year old waking at night for a bottle

Hello, my 1 year old is still waking in the night for a bottle. Sometimes twice a night, if he doesn't get it he screams and screams. He is having 3 meals a day (sometimes ends up on the floor!) and snacks also he is still having his morning and bed time bottle. This is now cows milk. We just don't know what to do, can anyone help? Me and my partner both work and its becoming very stressful :(

What's his routine and naps like? X

Gets up at 6.45 - 7am then has a nap around 11-12 then we have dinner around half 5-6 then bath and bed which can vary when he actually goes to sleep so anywhere between 7pm-8.30pm x

Edited

It sounds like he's just wanting the milk during the night for comfort. Have you tried giving him water instead. I've heard other do that and it's stops them waking up. Is he having just one nap? If so he might also be overtired to why he's waking up x

We have in the past but he just got so upset and then couldnt settle him so i thought maybe he was hungry. Now he is older and eating more your right it could be a comfort thing. I will try that tonight. Over tired I didnt think of that, when should he have another nap do you think then ? x Thank you

How long does he sleep for the first nap? I'd say about 3ish for the second one. It's okay 😊 x

It all depends could be half hour could be 2. As I work and he is with my mum and my partners mum everyone does things different so hard to navigate. I will try and get him to have 2 naps and the water and see if that makes any difference. Thank you again :) x

I started giving my DD (18m) evening snack (eg porridge) and she is sleeping better. Those days she hasn't eaten as much as usual she wakes up at night hungry and needs milk. If she has eaten enough she happily sleeps until morning.

I always offered a snack at bedtime but any wakings were met with water and if hungry a dry oatcake. Never any variation. DD genuinely had to be hungry! (Although what she really wanted was company..)
Friend of mine had a genius way of knocking night milk on the head. She swapped it for goats milk. Very soon the kids decided they could do without (won't work if your child likes goat milk)

Oh okay - I will try that. He doesn't like porridge and he normally has fruit after dinner but I'm sure there is something he will like! x

Mine were at that age, I thought it was still quite normal 😬 are they having a big bottle before bed?

Try giving supper before bedtime.
My child has toast before bed most nights.
Also try watering down the bottle so it eventually ends up being water only in the bottle.

Yes he is having a bottle before bed - it was 10oz of formula now hes on cows milk I reduced it as apparently they can only have so much. x
