8 month old - what is happening?!

My baby co-slept to start, only way he would sleep and I was fine with it until one day he rolled out of the bed, this was at around 6.5 months. At this point I bought his big cot into my bedroom and I'd feed him to sleep in my bed and then lift him into his cot, he was fine with this and stayed asleep usually during transfer, occasionally stirred but could be shushed and patted and he'd settle again. We did this for night time sleep and both daytime naps if at home. The past 3 days now he wakes up the second he's in his cot and screams, I can shh and Pat and it does nothing eventually he stops crying but is then wide awake and won't sleep. I can't leave him in my bed for naps unless I lie there the whole time as it's really high up and can't fit bed guards to it. He's back in with me overnight because he will not be in the cot but he sleeps so much worse next to me. I don't know what's going on or how to go back to how it was?! Sad

Same. Here.

I made a thread yesterday saying very similar - my eight month old will not sleep other than being held at the moment. You have my sympathies!
