Hiya all,

Right I know giving our los something to sleep with to remind them of us and comfort them is a good thing, esp when they wake at night.

How do I do it? What do I give my dd? She is 6.5 months

Shove a muslin cloth or 5 up your jumper for a good few hours.

And then put one in your DDs cot with her, don't leave them up there obviously. I tied a knot in one to leave rabbit like ears out the top.

Another vote for a muslin. They are easily washable and you can have a dozen of them so there is never the nightmare scenario of having lost the only toy that your DC will go to sleep with.

Thats a brilliant idea.

My mum bought her this cute blankie thing which I shoved up my top but it wasnt very comfortable so didnt stay there long :-)

Maybe a stupid question but dont they get confused by smelling mummy and therefore potential brest milk?

So you use a freshly smelling of you muslim cloth every day??

Oh and did you find it helped with getting them to sleep through?

Um, no, TBH it made no difference to their sleep at all but it made me feel better!

both my dc love muslin square. mothercare ones are nice and soft.
ds 6m sleeps with muslin already. dd carries muslin around at home when tired she is 3.
got a few dozen of them.
i think its the softness and freshness of them, i dont know. i would often go bed with one,too
