Hi all, looking for some help as a first time poster. We’ve been sleep training our daughter and it was all going well for a few weeks until Wednesday. She’s now refusing to sleep in the cot, there is hysterical crying which sounds more guttural than normal crying. Bedtime has been one night in our bed and two nights starting in her bed for four five hours and then crying and coming into our bed. Prior to this we had no crying at bedtime, had stopped feeding to sleep and at least once nap a day in the cot. Any advice welcome as we are not sure what to do or try. She’s just under five months and breastfed! Feeding has increased so not sure if it’s growth spurt or teeth but we’re at our wits end as she seems outwardly fine!

Could just be a regression, could be something going on. It’s hard to work out from your post what the problem actually is. What was the reason for sleep training? So she is sleeping in her cot but crying overnight and you’re putting her in your bed? What are you trying before you put her in your bed?

Thanks for the reply. She was sleeping a good 7/8hrs in one go before a night feed prior to this change, with one nap in the cot. Now she’s refusing to go anywhere near the cot during the day and only napping in the pram or in the sling. At night we’re sticking to bedtime routine of feed, bath etc but have started feeding her to sleep again to get her to go to the cot. I feed her in the middle of night and she can fall asleep but as soon as in cot she cries again. We had stopped feeding to sleep and were having great luck with it all but now gone! The crying feels different this time and the feeding has definitely increased!
