WIDE awake at 3am - aaaargh ! HELP!

Up until fairly recently DD (9months) was a pretty good sleeper. In bed by 7.15 and awake about 6.30 (if we were lucky). And then it all changed!

DD seems to have one thing or another since the beginning of the year(just started nursery), hugely snotty cold for weeks on end, bad cough, conjunctivitis, ear infection, mild sick bug and as result has not been sleepign or eating well. Frequently she has been shouty during hte night but would mostly settle with cuddle.
Over the last couple of few weeks/month, she has been at her most shouty at 3am ( when she used to wake for her mioddle of th night bottle when younger - coincidence?) completely WIDE awake and will stay wide awake for a good couple of hours. Only with a bottle with she nod off, even then sometimes she is unsettled anddoesnt seem to sleep as well. I have been back at work for a fortniobht after a year off and am absolutly shattered - as you can see frmo my typing. DH does a lot and helps out at night but were both feeling the need for some advic from those who have been there.

Is it likely to be a growth spurt?
Is she likely to drop out of it as she settles back now she is properly well again?
Is it a bad habit to get into to giv her the 3am bottle, even though she is only 9mo and it seems to be what she wants?
Am worried its a viscous circvle, she gets fed in the night, so nt as hungry in the day so not have as much so more likely to need that middle fo the night feed........

My DD always has mega night wakings with teething. She can be rolling around and restless for hours. Personally I'd give the milk and see what happens, it's just as likely that you won't get any 'bad habits' and that she genuinely needs it. We had a regression at about 9 months if I remember rightly. I sometimes give my DD a bottle in the night if she wants it and nothing else will settle her(18 months) but we haven't created any bad habits

thanks ginger,
weve had a couple more 3am wake ups but on neither time did she want her bottle! See how things go - thanks for your advice.

Orchide - how does she sleep at nursery? Myself and friends have found this problem has kicked in at 1yo, because they have gone off to nursery, where they don't sleep as much as there is so much going on, got ill more often due to the mixing with other kids (and their germs) and their little lives have been turned upside down. We found they would wake up in middle of night, whinge alot and take a couple of hours to go off agin (if at all). Hopefully, it will settle down after she settles at nursey with sleeps, and illnesses clear up.
