Reading other people's threads on here it's clear everyone has regular nap quantities / schedules for their little ones.
And we are looking to start nursery soon so I feel like scheduled naps will be a thing there.
But we never have. And we don't have a problem with that at home but I think the nursery will.
At home, if DS (5 months) is tired, he will have a nap. If he isn't he won't.
I use huckleberry to track all of his sleep/food/nappies so I know on some days he has 7 naps of 20 mins each and on others he has 1 nap for 6 hours and every option in between.
But he is a GOOD night sleeper. He sleeps at least 10 hours solid with no wake ups when we get him to bed overnight so we don't really want to mess that up.
There has only been 2 nights in the last 4 months where he was over tired and too upset to sleep at night and both of those days were severely upset days with significant cross country travel and new people and new environment so completely understandable.
Do i need to force regular day naps at set times? It feels weird to mess with sleep that works so well for us and him but I don't know how a nursery will take to it.
