There may not be a straightforward answer to this, but why do babies sleep in that adorable way with their arms up above their heads? And when do they tend to stop doing it?

maybe they haven't got all inhibited and aware of their vunerability yet?

Or maybe they're just enjoying the space they have?

I alsp love the way they whole body stretch and squirm as they wake

Yes it is a very vulnerable position and the sweetest thing....maybe related.

Agree very very cute. My DD doesn't tend to do it very often these days (she's 18 months) I love the way they push their tummy up and pout (perhaps it's just my DD) when they wake.
