Making cot more comfortable

8 month old usually sleeps well at night, but has recently become more unsettled due to moving about so much in their sleep (rolling over onto tummy, hitting side of cot with their legs etc). They also used to be able to get themselves over in the cot but now even though they are tired they just roll about getting frustrated and want to sit up.

It seems with how firm and flat the mattress is, and the sheet tucked in, it is so easy for them to slide about. We have taken to having him fall asleep on our bed and then transferring him. He will fall asleep so quickly if we lay him on top of our duvet as he seems to love sinking in, and doesn't wriggle about at all. Total opposite to his own cot. I know however that safe sleep guidance recommends the cot being as we have it set up, but does anyone have any recommendations on how to make it more comfortable for him? I'm watching him sleep on the bed right now and he hasn't moved an inch in 45 minutes, whereas he wouldn't last that long at all in his own cot without wakening himself up by moving.

Could you get a nice cosy sleep bag? Especially as it’s getting colder now? X
