I wouldn't worry, DS 9.5mo has been sleeping face down for quite a while now, unless you literally watch them all night and turn them over there's not a lot you can do. It's the first 6 mo that you have to be more careful because of SIDS anyway.

Hmm, have you tried perhaps wedging him on his side with a pillow or a rolled up blanket behind his back?

StealthPolarBear · 04/03/2008 10:43

My DS prefereed to sleep on front as soon as he could roll but his face was always to one side. I know you said you'd tried to move him - did you mean roll him back onto his back, or have you tried just turning his face?
I wouldn't worry about the oxygen to the brain thing - I think he would move if that was the case, but on the odd occasion where DS has had his nose squished into the mattress I've been a lot happier moving his head to the side.
That sick sounds like fun! I bet you've been doing loads of washing (baby and bedding!)

My 9mo old DD does this too. I asked my HV about it, and she said tht once they can roll themselves over, then it's ok to leave them on their tummies as they are able to turn their heads to breathe.

the sick thing is horrible though. DD did the same thing last night and it was everywhere.
