Siblings sharing bed

Have 2 LO's, a girl 9 and boy 7.
They both have double beds, but much prefer to go in with each other. They don't mess around, in fact they go to sleep much quicker in together.
They've been in the same bed for 2 weeks solid now. Have I made a rod for my own back, or will they decide at some point to sleep separately?

Meh, my two older DC are G/B, 8 and 5 and often top and tail in each others beds. I think as long as they have their own space to go back to it's a total non-issue, and actually a rather lovely part of childhood.

I doubt they'll still be wanting to share as teens so wouldn't worry about it!

Honestly I'd be up and down 20 times an evening dealing with monsters, ghosts, funny noises etc so it's much easier for me.
Just hoping they don't become too dependant on each other!

Aw I think that's lovely. They will naturally grow out of it in a couple of years most likely when your DD hits puberty.

It's really handy for holidays as you won't have to deal with all the silliness And whining of kids who aren't used to it

That's why my dc share a room, dd9 & ds7 they don't share a bed but always have gone and slept in the same room.

dippyflippy · 14/09/2023 20:36

I'll let them crack on then I reckon!!!

Not only do our 8yos love to share each others beds, they have small doubles and the 12yo often climbs in for a matter and can be found there many a morning. I've given up bothering to tell any of them to get into their own beds.

I think it's lovely they are close and comforted by each others presence. I used to climb into my brothers bed at the same age and talk nonsense for hours.

You may find that when your daughter begins having periods, she will want to use her own bed.
