DS has real difficulties during the day to go to sleep. He has never fallen asleep by just putting him down at the first or second yawn. I am pretty tuned in his sleep patterns now: I carry him around to settle and then either nurse/sling or pram him to sleep just at the right time. A dummy helps but alone is not enough to put hime to sleep (Dummy + pram at the right time works within 10min).

I have tried the "no cry sleep solution" routine, but we never get past stage one. If I put him down before being sound asleep he starts wailing uncontrollably and it takes at least an hour to resettle him.

Interestingly, sleeping at night is no problem. He nurses every 3 hours but goes right back to sleep and I hardly mind the interruptions. So, no complaints here, but:

He will have to go to nursery at 6 months and I am very scared they will have to let him cry to sleep. (I plan on talking to them about this problem but havent done so now.) I definitely want to avoid that he has to learn to selfsettle at the same time as going to nuersery.

Is there any chance his sleep pattern might changeby itself until then? What would you do or worked for you? I am spending several hours a day settling him, so this cannot continue anyway. I am not desparate enough yet to consider controlled crying.

Thanks for your help.
