Swaddling and rolling

My baby is 11 weeks old and sleeps in a Tommee Tippee Grobag: https://www.tommeetippee.com/en-gb/product/the-original-grobag-sky-grey-marl-swaddlebag?gclid=CjwKCAjw6eWnBhAKEiwADpnw9r9nVdKm3I5q7dcfraYAI8SPZ01F7kQF4YOTLwjuzRmEe1NtNTcbhBoCvoMQAvD_BwE#530=18441&534=18438

I just put him down (on his back) and he rolled onto his side and and then immediately back onto his back. My understanding is that babies should immediately be unswaddled if they can roll over. Does this include rolling onto their side?! Please help, as I’m wondering if I should unswaddle him now or just sit here watching him all night.

The Original Grobag Sky Grey Marl Swaddlebag

Swaddling your new baby helps them feel safe, snug and secure, just like when they were in mum’s tummy. Our Swaddlebags feature poppers on the armholes to enable you to either swaddle your baby with arms in for total snugness, or arms out to allow them...

may Be wrong but my understanding is if their arms are out they are ok even if they roll

I thought sleeping bags were fine for a good 18 months ish. Again, I may be wrong - it’s a long time since mine were small, but I remember them shuffling round in them.

CauliflowerBlue · 08/09/2023 21:24

My understanding is take them out as soon as they roll. Even with arms out.

Rolling onto his side is rolling.

Pammela2 · 08/09/2023 21:24

The sleeping bag element is fine but no swaddling if they are rolling.

Thanks, all. I took him out last night. He’s currently happily asleep in just a nappy, so perhaps my fears of unswaddling were unwarranted!

Take on the role of a skilled driver in polytrack, where your task is to complete each race in the shortest time possible. The game features a variety of tracks filled with obstacles that require precise driving to avoid crashes. Success depends on how well you can navigate through these challenges.
