How is this even possible?

My daughter can literally sense me walking into the room from her deepest sleep. All the lights are off before I walk in, the door is already ajar and opens silently, the floorboards don't creak and we have super thick carpet, there's white noise playing, the fan is oscillating and I don't make a single sound. There is absolutely no way I somehow do something that could disturb her, and yet this is every night. I'm a good 4-5m away from her as I walk in and on the opposite side of the bed, so how can it be that she knows I'm there?

Are you breastfeeding?

sunflowerandivy · 07/09/2023 06:23

As in it could be your smell. Even if you're not breastfeeding it could just be your smell

@sunflowerandivy i am but she'd surely have to have a more sensitive sense of smell than a sniffer dog to pick up my scent from across the room within <10 seconds. I'm not doubting your theory as it's about the only thing that makes sense but it just seems like some super human ability. I don't wear perfume or anything FWIW
