Hot box room - help!

My DS who's 2 is currently in his box room which is 31 degrees on the monitor. He has a fan oscillating next to him and is only in a thin 0.5 sleepbag. He sleeps better in sleep bags than just PJ's or nappy.

The room gets direct sunlight until it's set at 8pm which makes it extremely hot. Today I closed the window, rolled down the blind and closed the curtains but it's not made a difference. Has anyone got any more tips?? Has anyone tried the reflective film for windows?! Its impossible to move him to another room, and it's too light downstairs for him.

Put foil in the window to reflect the sunlight, although if at all possible put it on the outside to prevent any overheating between the double glazing. In the heatwave last year I used foil bubble wrap insulation from Amazon.

Keep the window shut and blind/curtains closed when the sun is on the window.

Once the sun is off the window and it has started to cool down open the window. Try to open other windows in the house to get a through flow of cooler air.

A bowl of ice in front of the fan will cool the air belong blown.
