Help soon to be 1 year old still waking 10 times a night

Hello everyone advice needed so CMPA girl with serve reflux on highest dosage going..

So issues I am currently experiencing is the very frequent night waking it's up to 10 times a night..

During the day she is fantastic at her set naps I have now after almost a year have come to the realisation why nights are my issue it's the cot bed (too much space) if she sleeps in her buggy or even high chair during nap times which she is strapped into and yes she is fully supervised she can sleep without waking for a few hours as soon as I put her in that cot she is thrashing around waking herself up I think it's all to do with her feeling more snug and slightly reclined in the buggy were as the cot has so much space.. I have tried to pop her in her cot while semi awake and within an hour she is up thrashing around the place..

So with this in mind are there any recommendations for something I can put in her cot to keep her all snug which reduces all the thrashing around?

She spend the first 6 months snuggled up to me while we battled with her allergy which caused her to be completely unsettled so I am betting she misses the closeness of being squished up to me.. co sleeping is a no go tried it so many times she gets far to hot even with the window cracked and just a vest on and she spends the night kicking the last remaining energy out of me 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

I have spent months and months shifting routines, crying out methods you name it I have done it etc speaking to her consultants and gp to get her sleep issue resolved and this is my last resort now see all my other posts 🤦🏻‍♀️ I was thinking of ordering one of those pods to see if that helps before I do it I just wanted to ask if others found better solutions before making an expensive purchase.

Thank you xx

I'm so sorry that you're struggling. It could well be the CM

SiouxsieSiouxStiletto · 31/08/2023 08:25

God know who I posted halfway through!

Meant to say it could well be the CMPA, I have it and it can definitely affect sleep.

Can I ask which milk she's on and if you've tried cutting out Soya as well as milk?

morningcoffeevanillalatte · 31/08/2023 09:04

@SiouxsieSiouxStiletto she is on neocate but switching to oat milk. She doesn't have soya in her diet she had allergy scratch testing done to rule out igE reaction she came back negative for cows milk and soya.

Ok so what happens when she wakes now?

morningcoffeevanillalatte · 31/08/2023 09:51

@SiouxsieSiouxStiletto she wakes every 30-45 mins she has issues with serve trapped wind. She is on lactulose incase the reflux medication causes constipation..We cannot work out what is causing the issues she has had chronic sleeping issues since birth, her diet at present is completely dairy free we won't even attempt the milk ladder until she is somewhat sorted with her sleep..

I had CMPA as a baby but I grew out of it just intolerant now to dairy.. her reflux is being managed..

we have tried everything going we have dropped her morning nap now so she naps for 2-3 hours in the afternoon no sleep after 4 pm she had a solid bedtime routine she goes down fine but then we get witching hour at half 10 every night and that's when the issues start.. i have moved reflux medication from the morning to the evening as instructed by her doctor and hasn't helped at all. We have tried everything now mattress on the floor.. co sleeping.. controlled crying.. offering food before bed.. no milk during the night only water.. sleeping bag.. window cracked so the room is nice and cool she gets warm very quickly.. dark room.. room with some light in.. dummy.. comfort teddy that has white music.. gentle pat/rub on the her back with a shh sound without removing her from her cot.. long walk early evening time.. gripe water to ease stomach pains.. erm there is probably more I have tried but sleep deprivation is causing brain fog..

from today we have been told to move her onto oat milk as she already has it in her diet I cook with it.

That's interesting, have you had a look at the Ingredients in the Neocate to see if there's anything obvious bothering her?

When you say that you're "just intolerant now" do you mean that you have the non-ige type of allergy? Wink

morningcoffeevanillalatte · 07/09/2023 16:40

@SiouxsieSiouxStiletto update on my little girls case she was in fact reacting to the coconut in neocate all along we never realised. She has been on oat milk for a week and been sleeping through 😀 only the last couple of nights she has been unsettled but that's the heat.

Yes I was am non igE but when I was a baby I would projectile vomit by milk up but back then you could only get one CMPA milk and it was wysoy.

I thought there might be something else going on. I'd definitely push for a referral to the allergy clinic now that you know of 2 allergies that she has Flowers

@SiouxsieSiouxStiletto she is already under a allergy consultant met him the first time in august and have an app for next month.
