6 month old awake 3am-5am

Hey everyone! Just looking for some advice and perspectives please!

6 month old baby wakes for a feed (or so I think) around 3am most nights. He has some of it, pushes it away, and then seems very very awake. I try to rock him back to sleep, feed him some more, sit and cuddle with dummy, nope- he's WIDE awake. He is then in his cot for a couple of hours, on his front, rolling and moving around, singing, occasionally crying, just completely unsettled until he's finally exhausted around 530am and will fall back To sleep. It's exhausting for us all as it's waking his brother next door now and I can't fall back to sleep after he has. So I'm essentially awake from 3am every day.

He isn't weaned yet- just beginning the process.
He has several large feeds in the day and a large one before he goes down at 6:30pm(he's exhausted at this time that's why he goes down then.) sometimes has a dream feed around 11pm.
He has two naps in the day for about an hour and a half each. Last wakes at 3/330 pm.
I'm all out of ideas and can barely function now each day as I'm so tired! Any advice welcome please. Thankyou xxx

I’ve no advice but oodles of sympathy. Youngest born on 3rd Feb and he’s doing this too, waking up, taking a bit of bottle, and raving! The reason I’m sharing is that perhaps it’s just part of a development phase and you don’t feel like you’re alone ♥️.
Though you’ll already know this as you’ve got an older son, this too shall pass. Not helpful to a sleep-deprived you, but give it two weeks and hopefully it’ll have passed.
PS are you trying to go to bed early to snatch sleep at the front end of the night?

Just the same as my 5 month old. I was hoping solids would help when we start weaning 😬

Sorry I forgot to reply. Thankyou so much for all your advice. Bless his heart he's a bit better the last few days- I think it was a little regression! Currently up at 00:39 enjoying myself cleaning the house 😏
