Look up Jo Frosts controlled timed crying. Worked wonders with our first (15 mins) then slept through. Our second self settles too but wakes a lot despite self settling even at 19 months.

We resorted to literally putting her in bed, leave the room. If she got back up and comes to the door, we'd go back in, put her back, leave. She was able to climb out by 18 months so was in a bed early.
First night it must have been about 30 times! Second night twice, now she goes straight to sleep.
Obviously no telling off or getting cross, just staying really calm and gentle but not chatting. I prefer to say night night love you each time.
Also do not underestimate how much your toddler understands. Talk A LOT about it during the day.
'oh and later, dolly will be going straight to sleep with you at bedtime. She needs her sleep ready for another fun day tomorrow, don't you Dolly!'
And just prep prep prep. After bath it's teeth, and after teeth it's story then bed. Again and again and again!

Thank you for your reply! I do think my girl would be better in a bed aswel, I may have to consider it to see if it helps. She does sleep through 9/10 times but just want her to self settle as shes starting to get to heavy for me to transfer her into cot!

Will take a look thank you. My daughter does sleep through most of the time which has been the reason for me not fully doing sleep training but feel like nows the right time as shes older and getting heavy i cant keep holding her to sleep!
